Survival in real wilderness - for advanced

Background: Based on the Wild Natures Expert training, the Wilderness Survival Training forms the basis for any kind of activity in wild nature. Without this training every trip into real wilderness is bearing considerable risks - depending on terraine, climate and remoteness, as well as the skills and the knowledge of the individual.

The advanced course is the continuation of the basic course "under difficult conditions".
In addition to practicing some additional survival techniques and tactics (including trapping, hunting hunting weapon making), the aim is to apply that what was learned in the base course on survival trekking excursions into remote wilderness, with only limited equipment. This survival trekking always takes place in big game country, ie in regions where potentially dangerous big game occurs. A goal on the Walks is to locate and identify this big game on the tracks - a breathtaking adventure! - When encountered, the goal is to shoot good photos from a safe distance ...

Our Advantage: We know the dangers of the wild, the risks of an extreme nature and environment that surrounds us every day. Dealing with these dangers is part of our life.

Ondjou Wilderness Reserve and adjacent Damaraland - perfect training conditions:
In this vast area, multi-day survival trekking and all survival disciplines with minimal equipment can be perfectly trained. The region is located in the semi-arid climatic area, and therefore offers natural conditions for survival training for deserts, steppe and savanna regions, including survival in harsh mountain and rock regions. The country is characterized by deserted vastness, lack of water, often heavy terrain and a plant and animal world, which are adapted to the harsh conditions. A whole series of potentially dangerous animals occurs. This and the high temperatures during the summer months as well as the frequent cold during the night (also minus-grade), as well as extreme thunderstorms and flash floods in the rainy season challenge the Wilderness Survivor a lot.

Equipment: Even with good equipment, survival in such extreme wilderness is a challenge that requires intense training and the whole man. We refer to this best case as "Specialized Equipment Survival". But we also prepare for scenarios where equipment may fail or be unavailable. Then we have to improvise (Improvised Equipment Survival) and more and more to live and survivewith the help of nature and natural materials only (Primitive Survival), focusing on the fascinating skills of the Namibian Bushmen (San) and other native tribes.

Training content:

Our Wilderness Survival training is based on the greatest risks that can occur in the wild, especially in the deserts, steppes and savannah regions of the world. Much of it is universally applicable everywhere in the world. Participants are encouraged to create own ideas and like to give our students enough space for individual development as part of our training philosophy. Instead of long demos we prefer to give short instructions and only intervene helpfully where necessary, so that the participants can constantly test and improve their own ability and thereby progress better and faster.

New training subjects compared to the basic course are: Improvised and primitive fire-making and other advanced techniques from all the subjects mentioned below, as well as gathering "bush food" and preparing such food (while no one is forced "to eat worms" !)

The Adventure of a Lifetime!

Nature Experience & Wilderness Experience: All programs at our SurvivalZone Wilderness Academy are an intense action in and with nature - and a confrontation with the wilderness. The combination of terrific scenery, wildlife encounters on foot, the magic of Africa and the certainty to dramatically improve survival skills make the program a terrific adventure - and one of the most important aspects of surviving in wild Nature.
